“…our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we also await a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will change our lowly body to conform with his glorified body by the power that enables him also to bring all things into subjection to himself. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord.” (Philippians 3: 20-4:1)
I am not allowed to say anything about a certain aspect in our family’s life right now that may have a great impact on our future. Suffice it to say that so far this Year of Faith — as proclaimed by our dear Pope Benedict XVI — is becoming very real and personal for me, and my family.
Through it all though, I know that God is with us. I know that He will never abandon us. And I know, too, that this life we live on earth — though beautiful and blessed and bountiful on many days — is but temporary.
May we never lose sight of our heavenly goal, and may we who are parents teach our children to aim, not for success or riches or fame or power or comfort, but for heaven.
“Our citizenship is in heaven…
Therefore, my brothers and sisters whom I love…
…stand firm in the Lord.”
