Truly Rich Recommendations {Events}: Expo Kid Year 5 — The Ultimate Summer Activity Fair

February 26, 2013 by Tina

If you’re looking for a place to go this weekend that’s perfect for the whole family, especially for your kids, drop by Expo Kid! 🙂

Basic RGB

Since moving back here to the Philippines, we’ve been able to attend Expo Kid twice, first in 2010, then again last year (I realize now I wasn’t able to post pictures of that, teehee!)

This year, I’m not sure if we’ll be able to go — I’m finding it more tiring to commute/move around these days — I’m 7 and a half months preggy now, more or less! Also, the kids have Kindermusik class with Teacher Suzette in Capitol Hills, and just the thought of rushing them in the morning to go to Expo Kid in Shaw and then rushing to their class (starting 2.30 p.m.) already tires me out! (Sorry, Janice dear! :() Still, we’ll see. I might just change my mind!

Anyway, here are more details from Mommy Mundo, the organizers of Expo Kid. If you guys can, please do go! 🙂

The Ultimate Summer Activity Fair— Mommy Mundo’s Expo Kid 5, a prelude to summer, will happen on March 2, 2013 (Saturday). This first kick-off event of Mommy Mundo for 2013 showcases tons of options of activities, for a productive & fun summer for kids of all ages. This year’s Expo Kid will be held at the 500 Shaw Events Pavilion, home of Kids Klub which has become a destination in kids’ extra curricular activities.

As another school year draws to a close, Mommy Mundo, together with its partners Jakenpoy.com, Craft MNL, our venue partner 500 Shaw Events Pavilion, and our valued sponsors and exhibitors, we invite all moms and dads to bring their kids to Expo Kid 2013 to gather up ideas for possible summer activities.

“We all know that summer is a time of fun, but it can also be a productive time when we allow our children to discover their talents, meet new friends, and learn new hobbies, outside the school setting. It is a time of building happy memories that go with childhood. These can be achieved by choosing the right summer classes for them,” says Janice Crisostomo Villanueva,  founder of Mommy Mundo.

Expo Kid 2013 will feature major interactive activity areas for kids where they can try out crafting stations from Craft MNL, check out the fun learning modules on Jakenpoy.com, music, arts and sports activities from Kids Klub as well as Crayola. There are more booths from other activity providers from all over Metro Manila, as well as a shopping bazaar which is Mommy Mundo’s trademark mompreneur market featuring more than 40+ booths onsite.

The event is open to the public with a minimal entrance fee of 20 pesos per person, which will benefit MomShare outreach projects. Everyone will also enjoy the all-day onstage program featuring the following:

  • Talented performances and demos from Kids Klub such as Julie Borromeo Performing Arts, New York Musical Theater Lab by Miguel Braganza, My Talent by Audie Gemora, the Philippine Gymnastics Academy, Taekwondo by Coach Donnie Geisler, Mathemagis – Singapore Math, KidzArt, Aikido, and Kindermusik with Teacher Suzette & Friends
  • A multi-arts show from My Masterpiece Movement
  • Informative talks for moms courtesy of The Learning Basket and Wonderworld Toys: Celebrating your child’s milestones
  • Fun and educational demos will be facilitated by Jakenpoy.com and CRAFT MNL featuring a screenprinting Demonstration and Heritage Crafts

Expo Kid 2013 is set to be a kids’ haven and a memorable welcome to summer. This event is produced by Mommy Mundo, the go-to resource for active and modern moms. Co-presented by PACE, Mommy Matters. In partnership with Jackenpoy.com, , Crayola& Kids Klub with the participation 500 Shaw Events Pavilion as our venue partner. Supported by Cycles&Cradle, Parteiziet and Crystal Clear. Media partners, Manila Bulletin, Sense & Style, Smart Parenting, the Style Weekend, Working Mom, Lifestyle Network, Urban Mom, www.mommypages.com.ph and Crossover 105.1 FM.

Truly Rich Recommendations {Events}: Babypalooza Bazaar + A Giveaway by Mommy’s Little Boss! :)

January 31, 2013 by Tina

I blogged about the Babypalooza Bazaar last year, and was even privileged enough to host a giveaway by Mommy and Baby Essentials. I was able to drop by the bazaar with the kids and browse through the booths and chitchat with some of the vendors (a few of whom were fellow mom bloggers, like Cai, Fleur and the ladies of The Soshal Network).

I also met some mompreneurs from the that I’m part of, and that Martine founded. 🙂 It was a FUN afternoon for me (though not so much for the kids, ha, ha! 🙂 They were obsessed at that time with looking for a copy of one of the Madeline books, so they wanted to go to a bookshop!)

Well, the ladies behind Babypalooza have another treat in store for everyone! 🙂 They’re having another bazaar — this time for two days — on February 16 and 17, 2013, at the Walter Hogan Conference Center in Ateneo de Manila (same venue as last time).

Shoppers will again get to choose among both preloved and brand new premium items from widely-trusted local and imported brands.

According to the organizers, there will also be special function rooms for breastfeeding moms and their babies, and for diaper changes. Toddlers will also have a special play area, and there’s even a waiting lounge for the daddies who will be going with the mommies! 🙂

Another treat in store for everyone are special talks on early childhood development, to be given by none other than my good friend and fellow homeschooling mom Mariel of The Learning Basket, who also happens to be a licensed educator (she is our son’s teacher for the Young Child program)! 🙂 The talks are FREE of charge, but pre-registration is required.

For more information, please visit Babypalooza’s website here or email . You can also contact them through the numbers indicated in the photo above. 🙂

BUT WAIT!

That’s not all! 🙂 The Babypalooza ladies, along with one of their vendors, ,  have so generously offered to sponsor a giveaway, exclusively for Truly Rich Mom readers! 🙂

Truly Rich Recommendations {Events}: Babypalooza Bazaar 2012 + A Giveaway by Mommy & Baby Essentials! :)

November 18, 2012 by Tina

Shopping for mommy, baby and kids items nowadays has become significantly “easier,” especially if you live in urban areas like Manila. Actually, with the Internet, you don’t even have to leave your home to buy this or that item — I’m sure you’ve bought something online at least ONCE in your life, right? 🙂 (One of my FAVE online stores is , but then, I’m a certified hoarder of children’s books book-lover and hope to raise my kids to be the same!)

Still, going to bazaars and events specifically geared towards moms and their families is a whole lot of fun, and I try to make sure we attend at least one or two such events every year — even more, if our schedule permits! 🙂

One such event coming up is the Babypalooza Bazaar on Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Walter Hogan Conference Center in Ateneo de Manila University.

From the press kit (with a few side comments from moi, teehee!):

The Babypalooza bazaar focuses on items and services for babies, toddlers and expectant moms. It features bothpreloved and brand new premium itemsfrom widely trusted local and imported brands. Items from Phillips Avent, Vulli (Sophie the Giraffe), Carter’s, Dr. Brown, Calvin Klein, Tiny Buds, Red Tag, Gap, Human Heart Nature (one of my favorite brands of all time!), Osh Kosh and tons of other stuff produced by Manila-based mompreneurs and from well-known brands will be sold on-site at negotiable, parent-friendly prices. A lactation consultant will also be on-site to offer FREE breastfeeding tips and counseling. (I love that they’re breastfeeding-friendly! 🙂
A special feature of this bazaar is its Vendor Protection Program (VPP). The VPP ensures that items that will be sold by one Babypalooza vendor will not be sold by another. This will ensure that buyers will not see the same stuff from several vendors over and over again, making their visit and shopping experience much more fun and worthwhile J (Isn’t this a great feature? It will help you narrow down your shopping choices and save time too!)
Items that will be sold are baby clothing, shoes and accessories, gear, strollers/baby furniture, feeding bottles, nursing wear, breast pumps, skin care and cleaning products. Services such as umbilical cord banking, bronze casting and pregnancy/breastfeeding massage (I could use a good pregnancy massage right about now, LOL!) will also be featured. Edible products such as organic baby food, pastries, pasta and other food items will be sold on-site.
The venue is fully air-conditioned. Free parking and entrance.

You can also get in touch with Cel Goco, Mariz Ong and/or Kat dela Torre.

I just took a peek at the list of vendors, and am glad to see that my friends from and will be there! 🙂 Fellow mom bloggers Cai and Fleur will also have booths at the bazaar. Cool, huh? 🙂
Now, for the EXCITING part! 🙂 Mommy Theresa of Mommy & Baby Essentials is generously sponsoring a GIVEAWAY in anticipation of the Babypalooza Bazaar! 🙂 Here is what’s up for grabs:

1 piece Skiphop Lunchies

2 pieces Fashionable Bibs
(More choices — depends on availability though)
3 pairs Non-Skid Socks
(More choices  — depends on availability though)
2 pieces Bag Organizer
(Sorry, no pic of these 🙂

To join, please make sure you follow EACH step in the Rafflecopter widget at the end of this post.  There will be eight winners in all — prizes shall be chosen at random, once Rafflecopter “selects” the eight winners. The winners shall be notified by email and announced on .

VERY IMPORTANT: Please take note that you can only claim your prize at the Mommy & Baby Essentials booth at the Babypalooza Bazaar on November 30. The prize will NOT be shipped to you. Good luck, God bless and have fun, folks! 🙂

Truly Rich Recommendations {Events}: Real Love Revolution 2012

August 30, 2012 by Tina

I posted about the Real Love Revolution 2012 a few months ago here. I can’t believe and are finally here in the Philippines! 🙂 They just had a series of talks in Iloilo and Cebu and are now in Manila! 🙂

Their last event during their Philippine trip will be the  this Saturday at the World Trade Center, starting at 1pm.

Since my sister and her family will be leaving the Philippines that day, we will most probably be spending their last day together here with other members of our family. So I am pretty bummed that hubby and I may not be able to go to the World Trade Center. I’m also not sure if the kids will be able to attend class. We still need to fix our schedule. Oh, I do hope we’ll be able to make it somehow! 🙂

If YOU are a PARENT reading this, or a TEEN or a SINGLE ADULT, or, well… just anyone who belongs to a family (who doesn’t, right?!), I highly recommend you attend the Real Love Revolution! 🙂 You’ll hear some awesome, inspiring speakers talk about life and love, for only P50, P100 or P200 per head! 🙂 How great is that, right?!

For tickets, you can contact or call (the Couples for Christ Home Office, ask for Aiza or anyone from Singles for Christ or Youth for Christ). You may also email . Or you can text Catalyst (the main organizer) at or email .

P.S. If you DO end up going to the conference, please do let me know how it goes! 🙂 You can leave a comment on my Facebook wall, or below this post. 🙂 Thanks! God bless!
