God sent the Angel Gabriel to Mary, a young girl betrothed to Joseph. The Angel said to her: “Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women. Do not be afraid for you have found grace with God. Behold, you shall bear a Son, and you shall call Him Jesus.He will be called the Son of God.” Mary said “I am the handmaid of the Lord. I was privileged to be among the first group of people to read this book (well, it’s part of my job, right?) and it is really one of the best business books I’ve read so far. After reading the book, I’m sure most of you, if not all of you, will start thinking, “What business can I get into, given my talents and gifts?” (Me and my colleagues certainly did!)

The book also describes 8 Keys to Build a Truly Rich Business, and discusses the “hardware” and “software” of starting a business. Readers will learn important principles that will save them from the most common pitfalls that make businesses fail. It also tells you why passion is NOT enough to turn your passion into profit and why “scarcity” is good for you as you start your business. It will also tell you why you should ALMOST NEVER compete on price… and so much more! 🙂

Truly Rich Reflections: My FIRST Reflection in Didache! :)

Just a quick post this morning to share with you all one of the greatest privileges I’ve ever had in my life — my first reflection published in Didache, one of the daily Scripture reflection guides published by our company, Shepherd’s Voice Publications.

I remember how, as a teenager, I would read Didache and other publications by Shepherd’s Voice, including Bro. Bo Sanchez’s books, and how I would be inspired, touched, sometimes even shaken to the core, by the reflections of the writers. I never imagined that I would be one of those writers, but, by God’s amazing grace and perfect plan, that’s where I am now. 🙂 Indeed, God knows well the plans He has for us.

My Didache reflection today focuses on the Gospel reading, taken from Mark 7: 1-13. I pray that God will use it to inspire you (and remind me!) to really practice what we preach, and live out our faith in all aspects.

MORE THAN LIP SERVICE

“This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” – Mark 7:6

How many times have we said certain things but contradicted our words with our actions?

We tell our spouses that we will love, honor and cherish them “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do us part,” but when the going gets tough, oftentimes we wish we were “going” too! (Gulp! I’m guilty of this!)

We tell our kids that they’re important to us, but we don’t look at them when they’re talking to us or pay attention when they’re showing us their latest “masterpieces.” Instead, we’re focused on our cell phones or computers. (Guilty here, too!)

We tell our God that we love, honor and worship Him alone — but we get distracted by other “gods” in our lives — our work, worries, material things, desire for success, the media, etc. (Ahem… guilty again!)

What a great reminder we have in God’s Word for today! Bearing in mind His words, let’s commit ourselves again to really honor God with our hearts, and to practice what we preach. After all, actions really do speak louder than words. Tina Santiago-Rodriguez ()

Lord, please take me back to the heart of worship — it’s all about You, Jesus! Use my words and actions — my whole life — to glorify Your name.

My Birthday-Celebrating-God’s-Amazing-Grace-I-Just-Want-To-Share-My-Blessings Giveaway! :)

I turned 32 yesterday (yes, I am quite open about my age, haha!) and reading everyone’s greetings on Facebook, Twitter, text, email has left me very humbled and grateful. I do not deserve all the love, support, prayers and “thank you for inspiring us” messages because Lord knows I am still a long way from being the person I hope to be! I fail, fumble and fall A LOT and I am definitely not the ideal wife and supermom this blog may have deceived you into thinking that I am (OK, am I still being grammatically correct here?! Haha!)!

Still, I am who I am by God’s amazing grace, and because of the amazing support of everyone around me — including you dear readers! 🙂

So, to celebrate my birthday, I want to share my blessings with you all. One of the “perks” of my job at Shepherd’s Voice is that I get to read so much inspirational material almost every day — books, magazines, lesson plans (for the magazines Kerygma and FiSh), daily reading guides — so there are always “reminders” and tips on how to live an inspiring and inspired, blessed and bountiful life. Three Years of God’s Amazing Grace and Blessings: Rysse’s Birthday Giveaway! :)

Our “little flower” turns three today.

I can’t believe how fast she’s growing. Slow down, please, Time. Slow down. *sniffs*

I can still remember vividly her birth — which was all natural, mind you! (Eeep!)

And how our lives were never the same again after that. (Just as it changed when I gave birth to her Kuya Tim.)

Really, thank You, Lord for the gift of life! Which we celebrate today, in a very special way. 🙂

And since I feel soooo blessed to have this little girl in my/our life/ves, I want to share my joy with you by giving away A YEAR’S SUBSCRIPTION TO MUSTARD MAGAZINE, the award-winning inspirational children’s magazine published by (none other than, ahem, ahem) Shepherd’s Voice Publications!
