Thankful Thursdays: The Power of Community
Since posting the truth about my pregnancy earlier this week, I have been overwhelmed by the love, support, prayers and messages coming in from people everywhere — including complete strangers! 🙂 Truly, God is good and faithful, and in behalf of our entire family, we thank Him for the blessing that ALL OF YOU are to us! 🙂
Thank you so much! 🙂
Needless to say, for this Thankful Thursdays post, I am grateful for the power of community — of people coming together for a common purpose, of people relating to each other in one way or another, online AND offline! 🙂

Thankful Thursdays: Just When You Want to Give Up
I realize I haven’t been made a “gratitude” Thankful Thursdays post in ages! There are actually SO many things to blog about… but I always feel like there’s so little time! *sighs* So, if you’ve contacted me before about blogging about this or that, or I haven’t even replied to you, please forgive me.
Anyway, this Thankful Thursday post is inspired by an online chat I had with a good friend and fellow homeschool mom blogger, Mariel of The Learning Basket (oh, please do check out her blog here for oodles of fun literature-inspired learning activities for your kid, and so much more!). We were chatting yesterday about a couple of things, one of which was the messages we’ve been getting from people because of our blogs.
Like I said in and on this blog post, I love blogging, but I haven’t been blogging as often as I’d like to. However, there are many, many times when I feel like stopping.

Yes, you read that right. Sometimes, I just want to give up on blogging altogether. I want to stop having to deal with thoughts of how to make time for writing regular posts, of the “hassle” of updating and , of replying to emails and messages from businesses and PR agencies and readers (oh, please forgive me!).
I actually chatted with another friend and fellow mom blogger (and “mentor-of-sorts”), Martine of Dainty Mom, about this same topic just last week… I told her what I said above and she encouraged me to keep at it and to just do my best (thanks, Marts, for always being so supportive! So excited to see you and the other ladies at the WAHMderful Life Workshop on October 27!).
Then, there are messages and comments like these, that truly warm my heart, uplift my spirits and encourage me… They also humble me and remind me why I started this blog in the first place — because I want to reach out to other people, especially to other moms… and to share what is good. I hope that, by blogging, I am able to inspire others to live their best lives… to live out God’s mission for their lives… even as I am still striving (and sometimes, failing) to do the same…
(This was sent to me through my Contact Me page. I didn’t include the mom’s name in case she wants to remain anonymous. Thanks just the same, Mommy A.!)
(This was a comment left on one of my earlier blog posts, about the Blissful Babes Warehouse Sale.)
I know to some people/bloggers, messages such as those above may be very common and admittedly, there are more “famous,” more inspiring bloggers out there. But to li’l ol’ me… they mean a lot. In this case, they are quite encouraging and provide me the motivation to keep on writing/blogging.
Thank you, dear readers. Thank you to everyone who’s dropped by and visited this blog at one point or another. Thank you for your messages, emails, comments, Tweets, Facebook posts, and more!
This Thursday, I thank the Lord especially for each and every one of you. 🙂 May God bless you and yours abundantly! 🙂

Thankful Thursdays: Thank You, Lord, for BC Bloggers! :)
I first wrote about BC Bloggers here, with my latest post about it here. I’m writing this post now because I received an email from Paula of BC Bloggers, part of which reads thus:
Last call for BC Bloggers Participants! If you haven’t signed up or forgot to now is the time to do it. Don’t forget to share in your Facebook page and your blogs so that others will join as well. Remember your blog will benefit more if we have more participants. Those who have alread signed up will be hearing from me by next week.
I actually remember signing up last year, but I don’t know if I “made the cut,” so to speak. So, just in case, I am blogging about BC Bloggers again now. 🙂 (Playing safe, haha!) I have a “deeper” reason for doing so, of course! 🙂
I really believe that my blog’s current page rank is largely due to the help of BC Bloggers, along with my writing gigs elsewhere on (and off!) the Net. 🙂 For all of these, I thank God and all the people who’ve helped me make this blog the way it is now. I hope and pray things will just get better from here onwards, all for God’s greater glory, of course! 🙂 (And to help our missionary family, of course, as this blog has been a great blessing for us, so far, in so, so many ways!)
P.S. If you’re a blogger, I would encourage you to join BC Bloggers. It’s really easy to do so. 🙂 Here’s the link to the sign-up form. 🙂 May you be blessed in all you do! 🙂

This Thursday, I am thankful for:
- God’s eternal love and refreshing mercy that is new every morning.
- My hubby, especially his safe return from his latest mission trip to the Couples for Christ Men’s Conference in Cebu.
- My children’s unconditional love and forgiveness; hugs and kisses; quirks and uniqueness — and the chance to witness all of these most days of the week.
- Tim’s assessment results at Brainworks School (we are currently praying and discerning whether to continue homeschooling or not and are letting him take assessment tests in different schools) — I was so happy that the teacher who assessed him said his IQ and comprehension skills are above average and his reading and Math skills are just right for his age! 🙂 All this, considering that there are
weeksdays that we don’t have “formal” lessons! 🙂 Woohooo!!! Praise GOD! 🙂 - The fun family dinner we had last Sunday, especially because was able to join us. 🙂 Also, the kids and I were able to join extended family in Malolos with my grandfather.
- My mom‘s safe trip to Brunei, to be with my sister, who is due to give birth to our family’s miracle baby anytime now.
- The healing of Tim, Rysse and myself from our cough and colds (thanks to everyone for your prayers, and special thanks to Maricel of for the health tips! 🙂
- Surprise messages of appreciation and gratitude by great moms and mompreneurs, especially Janice of ; Lyndel’s Mom, the mompreneur behind ; and Ging of . You have no idea how your messages mean to me! 🙂
- The chance to greet and beso-beso (kiss on the cheek) again with the BO SANCHEZ! (He was at the office for a shoot earlier this week.) I still have to pinch myself sometimes; I never thought I’d be working for one of Bo’s ministries! 🙂
- The time I was able to spend with little Therese this morning before going to the office, reading Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny; and my hubby, who was able to continue reading to her while I got ready to leave
- Being able to kiss, hug, bless and pray with the kids before leaving for work, knowing that their Papa was still with them (before he had to leave for the office, too)
- The new income streams (passive and active) that God is sending my/our way! Wooohooo! Praise GOD! 🙂 And thank You, Lord, for people like Martine of Dainty Mom and Janice of , who are always willing to answer my questions about mompreneur-ship! 🙂
In relation to blogging, I am suuuper grateful for:
- My current blog sponsors: Kindermusik with Teacher Suzette and Friends; ; and the newest one ! (And more sponsors to come — THANK YOU, JESUS!)
- My latest blog post on philstar.com – because I was able to share about The Three Key Moments of Daily Parenting 🙂
