This is kind of delayed, but better late than never right?
Today, October 16, is the last day of this year’s International Babywearing Week.
I love babywearing! It has really opened up “a world of possibilities” for me and our family. I didn’t get to wear Tim that much, as there were sooo many people around us every day who were more than willing to carry him (we were on mission in Timor Leste with 8 other people at the time), including my parents! Lolo Mon and Lola Tita were always there to help cuddle, carry and rock Tim to sleep.
With Rysse though, it was completely different. Most of our co-missionaries had already gone home to the Philippines by the time she was born. So babywearing became one of the BEST ways to take care of her AND continue the stuff we had to do on mission.

Even now, at 2.2 years, I still carry Rysse, though I use my Next9 pouch more than my Maya Wrap now. (Thank You Lord for our dear friends Clarke and Cynch, for the Maya Wrap!) People sometimes still stare at us when we’re out and about, and even close relatives sometimes ask me “You’re still carrying her up to now?!” To which I answer with a smile, “Of course!”

Babywearing has been a great blessing for us as missionary parents on the go, and now that we’ve more or less “settled” in Manila, it is STILL a blessing – and very convenient! No need to carry those bulky strollers along when we go out, and since we’re a commuting family it helps a lot!

I hope I can have a baby again, so I can wear her too. With my first baby, I regret that I didn’t wear her. I breastfed her, though! 🙂

Hi Pepper! 🙂 Thanks for dropping by. Yes, go go go! 🙂 I told myself the same thing when I got pregnant with Rysse, that I will commit to babywearing just like breastfeeding! 🙂 Be blessed dear!
