What a way to start the New Year! Yesterday, January 3, my first reflection for Didache, a popular daily reflection guide here in the Philippines, came out on the Kerygma Family website.
I didn’t realize that it was my reflection featured until I had my daily prayer time (which I am trying hard to do more consistently before everyone else wakes up — part of my New Year goals, aligned with my One Word for 2014). All the while I thought that I had written reflections for every fourth day of the month. Anyway, I am still humbled and honored that I get to share what God has done in my life and how He speaks to me through His Word via publications like Didache. My reflection yesterday is titled “Called By His Name” and you can read it here. (And this is the OC editor/writer in me speaking — if you notice any errors in the reflection, please bear with us. I already told the Kerygma Family team that my reflection published online is different from the one in print. 😉 They’re working on correcting it.)
Another HUGE blessing for the New Year — just three days in — is that my guest post on Simple Homeschool is finally up! I mentioned in one of my posts last year that I was able to meet up with Jamie Martin, the editor of Simple Homeschool, while she and her family were here in the Philippines, doing work for Love 146. (Which reminds me, I still haven’t done a post on that meet-up! Talk about blog backlog!)
Anyway, I had been meaning to share this photo of me with Jamie (and Anne) on my post about our families getting together for a “field trip” at The Mind Museum but since I have no idea when I will ever get to write that post, here it is (it was actually first published on Martine’s Blog Love feature about me — thanks again, Marts!):
I am so humbled and honored to see my guest post on Simple Homeschool! I wrote about something that “afflicts” me every now and then, especially as a homeschooler — “comparisonitis.” Please feel free to read and comment on the post here, and share it if you like.
There are so many other blessings to share about, but I’ll keep you in suspense for now. 😉 In the meantime, remember that YOU, too, are being blessed by God right this very minute. If you don’t “feel” it yet, be patient. Your miracles are on their way!
Did you get to read my Didache reflection and Simple Homeschool guest post yet? Please do let me know if they helped you out in any way by leaving a comment below. I pray that you were blessed by them somehow!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your encouraging comment. Thanks all the more for your prayers. It DOES take so much energy and commitment and help from the Lord to keep going sometimes! Congratulations on your recent accomplishments!
And you said, “In the meantime, remember that YOU, too, are being blessed by God right this very minute. If you don’t “feel” it yet, be patient. Your miracles are on their way!” I think your words so perfectly describe how I feel right now . . . I have the feeling that miracles are on their way, and I’m watching, watching, watching.
