To the people who are homeless, starving, have lost loved ones, feeling hopeless and that God has abandoned them, the little that we do may not seem enough.
But I’m here to say that the little that we can do will go a long way. It may not seem “enough” but as long as we help out in our own small, seemingly insignificant ways, I believe God will see our hearts and bless our efforts.
So if you feel overwhelmed today at the seemingly hopeless situation that our world — not just the Philippines — is in, do not despair. The little that you can do, share, give today will make a difference. As Blessed Mother Teresa once said, “We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”

P.S. I want to share with you some photos of a friend’s home — one of the thousands that have been destroyed by Typhoon Haiyan. I mentioned this friend in my previous post.
By God’s mercy, her loved ones are safe and were not injured during the storm. They are fortunate, but many, many, many others are not. Also, their house was not completely destroyed by the strong winds and rains so at least they have somewhere to go home to once cleaning, repairing and rebuilding are done, unlike the thousands who have lost EVERYTHING they own. I know that despite all that my friend and her loved ones are going through now, they are still grateful to God for the blessings they have. I pray that those who suffered more can still find reason to be grateful, too, no matter how hopeless their situation may seem right now.
Please do keep praying for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda, and help in any way you can! I wrote a post last week about different ways to help but it needs updating. I’ll try to write another one soon, this time with specific efforts that I have been/am still directly involved with, in one way or another. God bless you all!
P.P.S. I can’t help sharing this news clip from CNN. It left me sobbing and praying and proud to be Filipino. (Thanks to May for sharing the link to the video!)
“We’ve seen people with reason to despair, with reason to be angry instead, find ways to laugh and to love. To move forward… They have already survived the worst… Maraming Salamat Philippines, for showing us all how to live…” — Anderson Cooper
