I came across this video on Facebook last night, via the , and I couldn’t help but share it here.
A lot of people think Mass is “boring” these days, even those who consider themselves “faithful Catholics.” To be perfectly honest with you all, I used to feel that way, and still struggle with the temptation to think so sometimes.
But after watching Chris Stefanick talk about the Mass here, I came to realize again that the Mass is a beautiful, sacred celebration — and it’s not meant to be “entertaining.” I love what it says in the YouTube description of the video:
The Catholic Mass is far more beautiful than mere human entertainment. It is an exchange of hearts: a giving and receiving, between God and man. Jesus gives His whole self to us in the Mass, and He thirsts for us to give ourselves back to Him.
Watch the video yourself below, with an open heart and mind:
Let’s pray for one another, especially our fellow Catholics, that we may truly be transformed by the Holy Mass, and that we may see how truly rich and blessed we are to be able to attend Mass regularly.
Let’s not take our freedom to worship for granted either, and keep our fellow Catholics who face religious persecution every day in our prayers and Mass intentions.
Lastly, let’s spread the word about how “the heart of the Mass is the heart of Jesus” — may we never, ever forget that… no matter how “boring” the Mass may seem to some.
God bless us all!
