August is Buwan ng Wika in the Philippines, and is often a time for revisiting our Filipino heritage. It is a month of remembering our roots, and taking pride in being a Filipino. So I think it is no coincidence that God made this happen: Our family is included in Simple Homeschool‘s current series about “Growing Up Around the World“!
The series is related to my friend and Simple Homeschool’s editor Jamie’s new book, Give Your Child the World, which I wrote about here. I was thrilled and honored to receive Jamie’s email about being featured in the series!
As I was answering Jamie’s questions for the post, I found myself reflecting again on what it means to be a Filipino — at least to me, personally. I found myself thanking God once again for making me who I am; for making me Filipino. I found myself beaming with pride because I know, deep down in my heart, that God has a special purpose for us Filipinos — despite the hopelessness and despair that we as a people often feel.
So, dear friend, I invite you today to discover the “riches” of being a Filipino by heading over to Simple Homeschool, where I share a bit about Growing Up in the Philippines — just click here or on the image below!
